寧靜的禱文 （Serenity Prayer）

 

一位牧師朋友在他的一篇講章中分享了上世紀花旗有一位著名神學家萊因霍爾德‧尼布爾（Reinhold Niebuhr）的「寧靜的禱文  （Serenity Prayer）」。「寧靜的禱文」雖然是年代久遠的作品，可是禱文依然非常值得我們深思和細唸。

禱文中首四句更是可圈可點，道出在混亂不堪的世道中，靠著上帝賜予的寧靜和平安，除了接受我們無法改變的事情，也勇於改變我們能夠改變的東西，更重要的是滿有智慧地區辨兩者之間的不同。

 

寧靜的禱文  （Serenity Prayer）

God grant me the Serenity

上帝賜予我寧靜

To accept the things I cannot change,

接受我無法改變的事情，

Courage to change the things I can,

勇於改變我能改變的東西，

And the Wisdom to know the difference.

和辨別兩者不同的智慧。

Living one day at a time,

一天一天地生活，

Enjoying one moment at a time.

享受著每一刻。

Accepting hardship as a pathway to peace,

接受苦難是通往和平的途徑，

Taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is,

像耶穌所做的一樣，這個罪惡的世界，

Not as I would like it.

不像我想要的那樣。

Trusting that he will make all things right,

相信祂會把所有的事情都做對，

If I surrender to his will,

如果我信服於祂的意志，

So that I may be reasonably happy in this life,

好讓我這一輩子過得相當幸福，

And supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen.

是的，人生難免會遇上憂患、困擾和艱苦的日子。與此同時，人切勿灰心喪志，一方祈求天父添加信心，讓我們通過信心的一躍，投進上帝平安與喜樂的懷抱，另一方就是信靠上主的看顧，因為衪依然是掌管歷史和宇宙的上帝。
